Caste system with life & death
The caste system is reliant on stages of life within Hinduism, in order to be born into a higher caste within society one must practice and follow precisely the stages of life in Hinduism. Upon death it is believed that the soul of one is reincarnated into a higher or lower caste depending on one’s duty and good will performed in his past life.
While the caste system is not explicitly religious, the Hindu religion has played a large part in maintaining its structure. Hinduism preaches a cycle of birth and reincarnation, in which a person's soul is reborn into a new form after death. Your actions in this life determine your fate when you are born again. If you are faithful and dutiful in this life, next time, you'll get a better lot. The caste system fits well with this belief. Lower-caste people believed that if they lived a good life, they could be reborn in a higher caste in the next.
The caste system may have been deemed valid within ancient times, however how does it reflect on modern values of Indians and those wishing to sway away from this much like dictatorship system which does not practice the modern views of democracy, fundamental rights and individual freedom therefor laws or legislation have been regulated to make sure discrimination and human rights abuse have not been breached. More so with the rise of secularism Hinduism believers can only hope to alter practices to adapt with the modern society as this can be seen as the only viable factor to preserve the caste system and the stages of life and afterlife.
